Clinics and Services
Antenatal Clinics
They are held every other Thursday from 09:00. An appointment is necessary. Our midwife, Dannie Pilbrow, will take care of you and the baby before and after the birth. She will also be at the birth (when at home) whenever possible. You will be given details of how to contact her outside of her surgery hours.
Cervical Smears
Women between the ages of 25 and 65 are invited to make an appointment with the nurse. The invitations originate from Chesterfield Royal Hospital and they occur every 3 years for women aged 25 to 50 and every 5 years for 50 to 65 year olds. Please ring to make an appointment if you receive an invitation.
Child Health Clinics
Paediatric (6 – 8weeks) and post birth appointments can be arranged with any doctor at any of the surgeries. You will receive a letter from the surgery inviting you and your baby to attend. The doctor will check how you have been since the birth as well as carry out a health check for your baby.
The surgery will also post out all childhood immunisations invitation letters at the correct time, allowing you to make an appointment with either of our practice nurses at either surgery.
Family Planning Advice and Guidance
If you have been advised by the surgery to submit a contraceptive pill review please complete our online contraceptive pill review form.
All our doctors are happy to give Family Planning advice, including the fitting of coils, implants and the “morning after” pill. Sue Dear has received special training in this area and will be pleased to assist in anyway.
Physiotherapy
Provided in house and available on NHS – We do a self-referral scheme here, so, please speak to one of our receptionists if this is something you are interested in doing. Arrangements can also be made for the physiotherapist to visit housebound patients. You can attend this service without a referral.
Podiatry Clinics (chiropody)
Appointments can only be made by contacting the team at Newholme Hospital on 01629 817973 (09:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday). You will be asked for the reason why you require podiatry and they may need to update your record with next of kin, telephone numbers and ethnicity if they don’t already have this information. We currently do not have clinics at Eyam. You can attend this service without a referral.
